Jesus (peace be upon him) is someone who is loved and revered by billions of people including Muslims, yet there is a great deal of confusion surrounding this noble honourable man. This pamphlet aims to shed light on the life and teachings of Jesus in the light of Islām THE MIRACULOUS BIRTH Muslims believe in the miraculous birth of Jesus; in that he was born without a father. The Noble Quran teaches us that the Angel Gabriel was sent to the noble virgin, Mary, giving her the glad tidings of a child who was to be born (miraculously) without a father: “(The angel) said: ‘I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son’. She said: ‘How can I have a boy while no man has touched me, and nor am I unchaste?’ He said: Thus (it will be), your Lord said: “That is easy for Me, and we will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us (Allah). And that is a matter (already) decreed” [Al-Quran 19:19-21] Some people claim that Jesus’s miraculous birth is a proof for his “divinity”, however, this is erroneous. Jesus was not the only person without a father Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) before him had neither a mother nor father! Allāh the Most High tells us “Indeed, the example of ‘isā (Jesus) before Allāh is like that of Adam. He created him from dust, then He said to him: ‘Be!’ – and he was” (This is) the truth from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters” [Al-Quran 3:59-60] Therefore, the miraculous birth of Jesus is not a proof of his “divinity”, but rather a sign for mankind and definite proof that Allāh is able to do all things. For indeed, He created Ādam without a mother or father, and created his wife Ḥawwā (Eve) from a male (i.e. Ādam) without a female and created Jesus from a female (i.e. Mary) without a male, but created the rest of mankind from both male and female! MIRACLE OF JESUS In addition to his miraculous birth without a father, he also performed great miracles by the will and permission of Allāh. The Quran teaches us that
